Julie made a French Onion Pie that was to die for.
The inner workings:
Homemade crust (from scratch) using spelt flour.
The onion filling included:
The crust was formed and pre-baked to get crisper.
The next step was a layer of daiya "cheese", zucchini (grated), and then the onion filling added on top followed with more Daiya to complete the dish. Asparagus was cooked on the side
This was a new dish, and it has been added into our "to do again" list.
